Takamiya — Grand Front Osaka: free address at 150 per cent

Takamiya supplies and rents temporary construction equipment, the scaffolding and supports used to build offices, roads, bridges and plants across Japan. To link its group more closely and move faster, it brought five group companies, once spread across Osaka, into one office in Grand Front Osaka, planned with UCHIDA YOKO around the view.

Concept

A stage for staff

The president said the new office was a stage meant to change how people work and think. There are no partitions to block the view, so information moves faster between the companies.

Free address, take two

The company had tried free address about eight years earlier, but LAN cables and desk phones tied people down, and too few seats made staff guard their own. With better ICT it tried again, this time with far more seats than people.
