Studio 080 — Sendai: a shared office in a printing plant

Studio 080 is a shared office on a national road in the suburbs of Sendai, converted by UNQUOTE from a printing plant. It is run by a Sendai logistics company, and unlike Tokyo shared offices that rely on central locations, it keeps the building’s warehouse and delivery yard so that members can go from start-up to production to shipping.

Concept

Objects and people

The idea was to move both objects and people, using the building and its location rather than fighting them.

Part of the existing wall was reused: private offices sit outside it, and a co-working lounge inside it.
