HORIBA — Tokyo sales office: a lab wrapped around the seminar room

HORIBA, the Kyoto-based maker of analytical and measuring instruments, is known for its motto of “joy and fun”. Its Tokyo sales office, the hub for eastern Japan, first planned to merge an analysis centre spread over two floors. When the cost proved high, UCHIDA YOKO and Power Place showed that a full move would pay back in a few years.

Showing the whole range

Before, many customers knew only the products they used, and seminar guests or student recruits left without seeing any. Now the analysis centre, where products are demonstrated, surrounds the seminar room.

Interactive digital signs let visitors touch many products in a limited space.

No more overheard talks

The old centre was divided only by low partitions, so conversations carried. The new layout gives the demonstration areas their own space.
