DATUM STUDIO — Meguro: Dive Into Chaos!!!

DATUM STUDIO works on data consulting, analysis and system development. For its new office in Meguro Arco Tower, PLUS and designer Shintaro Onishi took “chaos”, the knowledge and energy brought in by study sessions and events, as the theme, and let the event space flow into the work area.

Concept

Chaos

Study sessions and meet-ups inside and outside the company bring knowledge and energy. The company calls this “chaos” and wants it to spread through the office.

Arco Tower is designed with curves from the structure to the shared areas, and those curves come into the tenant space too.

01 · Materials

Metal, plaster and grey

Industrial materials such as metal and plaster, on a grey base, are used in different proportions by area. The entrance, for official visitors, feels advanced and sincere; the event space is dark like a cave for close communication.

02 · Work

Polarising film

The work area sits between the two, with muted colours and accents of polarising film, expressing a company that takes on a constantly changing environment.
