Cybozu — Nihonbashi: a Tokyo office with its own bar, cafe and shop

Concept

An office made for teamwork

Cybozu sells teamwork software, and describes its offices in one line: places where people can work more efficiently, as a team. The Tokyo floor backs that up with many kinds of rooms — not one big hall, but a sequence of cafes, counters, workshops and quiet corners.

The company photographs and publishes every one of its nine offices across Japan, from Sapporo to the contact centre in Naha.

01 · Entrance

An entrance 27 floors up

Visitors arrive on the 27th floor of Tokyo Nihonbashi Tower, directly above Nihombashi Station. The entrance sets the tone: wood, plants and soft light rather than a corporate lobby.

02 · Workspace

Desks, plants and a magazine rack

The work area mixes ordinary desks with seats along the walls, greenery and a magazine rack — small choices that make the floor feel closer to a library than a server room.

03 · Meetings

Rooms for every size

Meeting rooms sit beside a renewed open area, so a conversation can move from a corridor chat to a closed room without leaving the floor.

04 · Cafe & bar

CYBOZU BAR, and coffee brewed on the floor

The Cybozu Cafe serves coffee inside the office, and the CYBOZU BAR counter gives the floor a place to gather after work. Both are part of the office itself, not a separate facility.

05 · Factory & shop

A workshop and a company shop

CYBOZU FACTORY is a workshop space for making things with your hands, and the small Cybozu Shop sells goods inside the office — two rooms you rarely find on a software company’s floor.

06 · Rest

A room to do nothing

A relax space rounds out the floor — because an office built for teamwork also needs a place to be quietly alone.
