YSK e-com — Kōfu: shoes off, free address, calories on the stairs

YSK e-com, an IT company founded in 1986 with offices in Kōfu, Tokyo and Fukuoka, bought 150 tsubo of land next to its head office and built a three-storey annex linked to it. UCHIDA YOKO chose the furniture for the 740 m² building, which the company wanted to be Yamanashi’s most up-to-date and easiest office to work in.

Concept

Unbalance

The chairman’s guiding idea is “unbalance”: rather than settle on the average, bring in sharp, unusual elements and turn the inspiration into challenges.

Each floor and corner offers change, stimulus or calm. The office is shoes-off, and the stairs show the calories burned climbing them.
