Ridgelinez — Tokyo: a reception with a stage, and lettering that appears when you change your view

Ridgelinez was set up to help companies with digital transformation, and Gensler designed its first office from workplace strategy to interiors and digital content. Reception is a lounge with a stage, where screens, monitors and a ceiling of LED panels work together; the work floors run on activity-based working.

Concept

Transforming perspective

The workplace concept is “Transforming Perspective & Transforming Boundaries”. Patterns and lettering that only appear when you change your viewpoint are used as design elements — a message about crossing boundaries to find new ideas.

01 · Reception

A lounge with a stage

Visitors and staff gather at reception for talks and events. The lounge can be rearranged, and the stage screen and showcase monitors are linked to LED panels in the ceiling, so the whole room can be customised digitally.

Co-creation spaces and whiteboards

The work floors follow activity-based working. Co-Creation spaces for teamwork, movable partitions and furniture, and plenty of whiteboards support many ways of working.
