Colour used as signage

The head office does very little with partitions and a great deal with surface. A painted wall marks one end of the floor, lettering runs across another, and the seating changes shape as the use changes — stools at a counter, low chairs in a lounge, chairs at a table.

The company puts the same idea in words: the office should let people work productively while talking to each other, which is a way of saying the meeting is not a room you book.

01 · Azabudai Hills

Reception, meeting rooms and lounges

Reception sits at the top of the three floors, with meeting rooms along a corridor behind it and lounges at the floor edges.

02 · Otemachi

The second Tokyo office

The Otemachi office runs on the same parts in a quieter register, with round tables under pendant lights and a lounge laid over green carpet.

03 · Kansai

Osaka

The Kansai office announces itself with a single word cut in timber and fills the rest of the floor with desks.

04 · Chubu

Nagoya

The Chubu office is the most domestic of the four: timber walls, a fireplace-like screen and a reception counter in pale wood.
