Medley — Roppongi: two floors of a tower, and a hundred seats to sit in

Medley, which builds software for medical practices and for hiring, works on the 12th and 13th floors of Roppongi Hills Mori Tower. Each floor keeps a large open space its engineers call the resting space — about a hundred seats on one floor, a newer one added on the other — used for lunch, for one-to-ones and for team meetings.

Concept

A floor that is mostly not desks

The engineers describe their own office by starting with the room that is not for working alone: a wide space of tables and sofas where people eat, hold one-to-ones and run team meetings.

A second one was added on the floor below, with box seats wired to displays so a team can meet without booking a room, and windows that look across to Tokyo Tower.
