CyberACE — Shibuya: balloons with the new hires’ names floating over the desks

CyberACE works in Shibuya Scramble Square, directly connected to Shibuya Station, with the whole of Shibuya below the windows. The detail that stays with you, though, is inside: balloons tied above the desks, each with a newcomer’s name written on it.

Concept

A culture you can see from across the room

The balloons over the desks are a CyberACE tradition. Each one carries the name of a new employee, so that everyone around can see who has just arrived and call them by name. The company calls it “one of our cultures”.

The rest of the office is built for an agency that sells as much online as in person: every meeting room has Zoom, set up, as the company puts it, for a “new normal” sales environment that does not assume face-to-face meetings.

Balloons above the desks

The work floor is laid out for comfort. The balloons floating above it carry new employees’ names, to welcome them and make it easier for others to say hello.
